I'm in the same position of really not loving his alt mode, but the robot mode looks good. Comparing the two robot modes gives me "toy vs how they look in the Marvel comic" vibes even though he obviously was never in the Marvel comic (Legacy bot mode just puts me in mind of Andrew Wildman art for some reason). I still have my original from '01 so if I pick Legacy up I'll display both in their respective superior modes. The original is a hassel to transform so I'm good just leaving him in alt mode forever.

It's hard to top the Dodge Viper as an alt mode.

I still have my original Sideburn but the red and gold variation. Same for Prowl. Wow, it's been that long since I've seen RID. Still one of my favorite series.

I feel like if you wanted to you could easily turn him into a Red Alert from Armada if you swap his head and leave him in robot mode

Gonna have to get this for when Haslab Omega Prime arrives, however I will say this is definitely one of the few Legacy molds to disappoint me, mostly just because he’s got Earthrise Clifjumper’s syndrome of having unnecessary partsforming

I hate the carmode so much. It was terrible on Shadowstriker, and its even worse on Sideburn cuz he really deserved a more Dodge Viper-esque car; basically what SS86 Jazz has, being so close to a Porsche, but enough not like it to not get in any trouble. But, despite my hatred for the car, I really like the botmode! It looked bad on Shadowstriker, but here on Sideburn, who its meant for, it looks great! I think I want him. Also, I'd really like a new Prowl and X-Brawn. And, _eventually,_ probably in couple years at the very least, a new Commander Class Optimus Prime.

it's a good figure, but it removesthe most iconic (to me) part of the original overload- the faux-partsforming where the legs slide onto the arms. blew my mind as a kid.

He's got the knife gun compatibility too just like Shadow-Striker! Would love to see him with a yellow off-brand lightsaber with the gun knife in that configuration

I am a (Real) RID Superfan but this is a hard pass. That car mode is awful

the issue you have with the bumper try plugging the roof into the other arm and you should get a better connection

Not a lot of people are pointing this out. It doesn't look like Bumeblebee's eyes are painted, he looks offline. He looks great but with his unpainted eyes standing out is disappointing. 😍😭😟😤

Separate comment, I wanted to show my appreciation for how well done the transformation instructions are. I am watching muted and this vid is just. So? Comprehensive? I also greatly appreciate how you go out of your way to point out certain joints and tabs before and after the transformation. That Ankle joint but especially. I had no clue that I was supposed to push Roddy's lil hooves(?) back, and it honestly explained a lot lol You're also very good at describing the best way to transform a joint to avoid stress on the plastic, which is a very important detail.

You’re supposed to be able to put the bumper on his shoulder like it should be since there are 2 sets of slots but for some reason it doesnt hold at all

I usually like a few things about every Transformer, no matter how bad the rest of the figure is, but other than the heads, there's nothing about these two releases that I can stand.
